Rashee Rice is going to be suspended; it’s just a matter of how long it will be.
Although the Kansas City Chiefs aren’t starting this season looking to three-peat as Super Bowl champions, Andy Reid’s team is still feeling the heat.
Unfortunately, the Chiefs will have to start the season without one of their top receivers.
Though Rice’s suspension has not officially been announced, he is now aware of when he will find out.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday that Rice’s disciplinary hearing with the NFL isn’t expected to take place until Sept. 30.
That means that Rice will be available to play four games, beginning with that opener against the Chargers and then facing the Eagles, the Giants, and the Ravens.
The standout wide receiver is expected to receive a multi-game suspension for speeding to cause a chain-reaction crash that injured multiple people. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years of probation.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice was sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years’ probation for his role in a multi-car crash in 2024.
A Dallas County judge sentenced Rice to jail time that can be served during the five-year probation. Rice has also paid restitution to the victims, including about $115,000 in restitution for their out-of-pocket medical bills.
The Chiefs believe that Rashee Rice will be handed a suspension that could be anywhere from two to four games.
The 25-year-old Rice is entering his third NFL season after the Chiefs took him in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
