Philadelphia Eagles star offensive tackle Jordan Mailata had some choice words for ESPN’s Adam Schefter over the ESPN analyst’s take on the “tush push” play.

In a highly anticipated rematch of Super Bowl 59 on Sunday, the Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 20-17 at Arrowhead Stadium in a defensive slugfest. Once again, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles perfectly executed the tush push in critical situations, with the Super Bowl MVP scoring the game-winning touchdown on the signature play.

Unhappy NFL fans thought Jordan Mailata and the Eagles offensive line got away with blatant false start infractions during the tush push play. Instead of moving back five yards, the Eagles were able to run their practically unstoppable play to essentially put the game away.

During Monday’s episode of “Get Up”, Adam Schefter suggested that the Chiefs “lost” the Week 2 contest in March, when NFL owners notably declined to outlaw the tush push play.

“This game was lost in March. This game was lost when the NFL owners refused to ban the tush push from happening. It wasn’t lost yesterday. It was lost in March. And there might be a lot of games that the Eagles play that are lost in March, because this play is unstoppable.”

It may only be a matter of time until NFL owners decide to ban the tush push, so the Eagles better enjoy the legality of the play while it exists.

Per Cayden Steele of NJ.com, Mailata was asked about his thoughts on Schefter’s tush push comments. Of course, the Super Bowl 59 champion didn’t mince words.

“I don’t give a f*ck what Adam Schefter says, to be honest. I ain’t the one calling the plays on my team…Pardon my language, pardon my French. I’m not calling the plays, and I don’t care what Adam Schefter says. Sorry about that.”

At the end of the day, 31 other NFL teams have total freedom to run the tush push play as well. If the NFL ends up banning the play in 2026, the Eagles just have to take it as a compliment.

Hurts has perfected the art of the tush push, and it helps to have arguably football’s best offensive line that features Mailata, future Hall of Famer Lane JohnsonPro Bowl center Cam Jurgens and arguably the league’s best guard in Landon Dickerson.

Complain about the tush push play all you want, but don’t hate the Eagles for practicing and executing the play to the point where it’s practically unstoppable.
