Shae Peppler Cornette might not be as well-known as other ESPN employees, but she certainly commanded attention this week.
The ESPN host is usually in the studio covering sports, but things changed this week.
Cornette was a Chicago Bears reporter for Fox 32 prior to joining ESPN. She even hosted her own weekly sports program, “Bears Unleashed.”
On top of that, she also worked for the Big Ten Network and The Chicago Huddle on ABC 7.
Bears fans love her. Their feelings were certainly hurt by her actions.
As part of ESPN’s “50 States in 50 Days” tour, Shae Peppler Cornette was in Wisconsin with Ryan Clark this Friday to watch the Green Bay Packers during their opening week of training camp.
Even though she is a die-hard Chicago Bears fan, she would find herself rocking enemy colors. Cornette was sporting a Green Bay Packers jersey while at Lambeau Field.
Prior to this Friday’s edition of “SportsCenter,” Shae Peppler Cornette took to her Instagram story and apologized to Bears fans.
“I’m sorry Bears fans…this was the hand I was dealt,” Cornette wrote.
The Green Bay Packers finished the 2024-2025 NFL regular season with an 11-6 record. They secured the 7th seed in the NFC playoffs and got ousted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round.
In the 2024 NFL season, the Chicago Bears finished with a record of 5-12 and placed fourth in the NFC North and 13th in the NFC.
Shae Peppler Cornette is Like Any Other Bears Fan
The Chicago Bears’ last winning season was in 2018 when they finished with a 12-4 record and won the NFC North division.
The fan base is tired of losing, but they also have hope.
The Bears fired head coach Matt Eberflus at the end of the season and hired Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as their next head coach.
In 17 games last season, Caleb Williams recorded 3,541 passing yards and 20 touchdowns and should be able to improve with Johnson in his ear throughout the year.
Brittney Griner Finally Breaks Her Silence Over Alleged Caitlin Clark Comments That The WNBA Refused To Investigate
Brittney Griner (Photo via Twitter)
WNBA star Brittney Griner was at the center of a new debate over what she allegedly said in a game against basketball phenom Caitlin Clark.
The Atlanta Dream center found herself at the center of social media controversy last month when some fans thought she disparaged Indiana Fever star guard Caitlin Clark upon fouling out.
The game’s broadcast focused on an upset Griner saying something as she returned to the Dream bench after fouling out of the game. While there’s no audio of this moment, some who tried to read Griner’s lips thought she called Clark a “trash f–king white girl.”
However, there’s no proof of Griner saying those actual words since others thought she stated something else.
It took weeks for someone to finally get a quote from her, and she provided much of nothing.
Brittney Griner was asked about this moment before her team’s June 15 game against the Washington Mystics and said, “I remember fouling out, being mad. I remember fouling out on, I believe it was [Natasha] Howard driving to the basket. They said I put my hand in.”
This is the first time I’ve heard Brittney Griner speak! 🤨

Moments before the conclusion of the Indiana Fever’s 81-76 victory over the Dream at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta weeks ago, cameras seemingly caught Atlanta Dream star center Brittney Griner labeling Caitlin Clark “trash” before calling her a “f***ing white girl” in frustration over a foul on Natasha Howard.
The clip of Griner speaking on the bench, lacking context, spread on social media and went viral.
Griner, who won a gold medal for Team USA at the Summer Olympics in Paris in 2024, essentially got away with whatever came out of her mouth because the league basically ignored the controversy.
This incident is not the only time Griner vocalized her frustrations this season. Following another game, she stormed off mid-interview, yelling at the referees to “be f—ing better.
