Well, that explains it.

“Bubba The Love Sponge” has offered an explanation for the viral moment that has Michael Jordan taking heat from all angles this week.

The Hall of Fame basketball legend is being slammed over his curious interaction with a young boy on Sunday night. And the internet wants answers.

Jordan was celebrating his NASCAR team’s Daytona 500 win after Tyler Reddick nabbed a first-place finish when cameras caught him tugging on Reddick’s son from the back.

Several social media users claimed that MJ groped the kid, but Bubba defended him during his show on Monday, suggesting the newly minted champion was simply removing ice from the back of the boy’s shirt.

Fans Not Buying Michael Jordan Ice Story

While ICE is being blamed for pretty much everything that’s gone wrong in the United States over the last few months, folks weren’t all buying this one.

“Where’s the ice? My eyes aren’t seeing any Ice. My eyes see a grown man looking around and then grabbing a child inappropriately. But that’s just my eyes,” someone commented.

“People saying ice, people saying he itched because he had champagne sprayed on him,” someone else said. “All of these are just made up excuses though , you both cant be right but both trying to defend him. So clearly neither is factual.”

“Yes my eyes deceive me. The eyes of a guy who lets Hulk Hogan pound his wife while he says “have fun” see better than mine do. He was just ice cleaning off a shirt wasn’t he,”  another user wrote.

“For people saying why would there be ice in the boys shirt? His dad just won the race and people were celebrating. Pretty easy to get in your shirt with people pouring ice water, gaterade and such,” an agreeable fan wrote.

Jordan is unlikely to ever address this. He’s not known for being outspoken and typically stays away from the media.

We can expect others to continue speaking up in his defense.
