LeBron James faced what seemed like a desperate situation during Game 2 of the NBA Playoffs first round against Minnesota, and while he was doing that, he also had to deal with another person who was inside the Crypto.com arena.

On Monday, rapper Kevin Gates said he ‘don’t like the way’ the Lakers star’s wife, Savannah, looks at James.

In the initial video from Gates posted over the weekend, the rapper said ‘white women’ look at James in more awe than his wife of nearly 12 years.

Gates further added Savannah acted like her husband was ‘bothering her’ during a pregame handshake, which was in reference to a video from 2023.

Gates went on to call Savannah ‘the warden of the jail’ while saying LeBron James’ spirit was so ‘loving and giving.’

LeBron was not a fan of that.

The Los Angeles Lakers player appeared to defend Savannah James after Kevin Gates said he prefers the way white women look at the athlete to his wife.

“‘Kings don’t concern themselves with the opinions of peasants,’” LeBron captioned his April 20 Instagram post with Savannah alongside a Black queen emoji. “Where to next, Queen?!?! Let’s get it!”

Gates would respond back to James on Easter:

Just when you thought the situation was over, Kevin Gates took it up a notch.

Was Kevin Gates hoping for a Stephen A. Smith moment?

After making disparaging comments about LeBron’s wife on social media and the Lakers star responding back, Gates decided to purchase some courtside tickets to watch Game 2 of the Lakers-Timberwolves game.

Alongside him on this night was his girlfriend, Brittany Renner.

The Indiana Fever made a franchise-altering decision last season when they selected Iowa guard Caitlin Clark with the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft. The budding star turned the team around, helping them to the playoffs for the first time in nearly 10 years.

As a result of their success, several high-end free agents wanted to team up with Clark and her teammates. Now, equipped with a complete starting lineup and a solid amount of depth, the Fever are one of the frontrunners for the WNBA Finals.

But before their season officially begins on May 17, they’ll have a trio of preseason contests to play. While two of them are run-of-the-mill exhibition games, one of them is another testament to just how impactful Clark has been during her one year in the league.
