Nick Saban is coming back.
By all accounts, Saban is enjoying retirement. The legendary Alabama football coach walked away from coaching last January after winning seven national championships, six with Alabama, and is widely believed to be the greatest coach in the history of college football.
Since his retirement, he has enjoyed instant success as part of ESPN’s College GameDay and even took part in the network’s NFL Draft coverage.
It seemed unlikely he would return to coaching after walking away from a job he held for 17 years.
That notion has seemingly changed quite a bit.
During an ESPN College Football Live appearance, analyst Greg McElroy revealed that someone “in the know” believes legendary coach Nick Saban will return to the sidelines.
McElroy defended the remark, adding, “If it wasn’t someone notable, I would never say a word.”
He would not reveal the identity of his source or the timeline for Saban’s possible return. The comments, however, carry significant weight given McElroy’s time as an SEC quarterback and close, firsthand perspective on Saban’s coaching influence.
Should this occur, where would Saban head to?
Saban retired with a record of 292-71-1 and seven national championships. During his career, he was the head coach at Toledo, Michigan State, LSU, and Alabama.
Paul Finebaum Speaks On Nick Saban’s Rumored College Football Return

Paul Finebaum had an interesting reaction to the wild Nick Saban coaching report put out by Greg McElroy.
The former Alabama quarterback said he heard from someone “in the know” that believes Saban will return to coaching.
Finebaum does not believe anything that is being said.
“As much as I would love to have turned SEC Media Days upside down and said to Greg, ‘I’ve heard the same thing,’ I told Greg I was with somebody,” Finebaum began during SEC Media Days.
“I was walking around somebody the other day, let me put it that way, who’s around Saban a lot, not in the state of Alabama, but in Florida. And he described to me what I’m sure you’ve heard many times, and you’ve heard, you know Nick very well, is that he’s having the time of life.
“He’s playing at better golf clubs than he’s ever played at, and that will continue, because everybody wants Nick Saban to be in their golf club. He’s making a fortune when he decides he wants to make a speech. He’s making a fortune when he shows up on ESPN once a week. And why would you give all that up at the age of 74? Don’t ask me how I know about things like that, but I hang around a lot of people who are turning 70, and it makes no sense, except that Nick Saban is the most competitive human being. And maybe if somebody said, ‘Coach, listen, Pete Carroll, same age, $10-15 million we’ll give you this, we’ll give you that.’”
Fearne Cotton has broken her silence on split from husband Jesse Wood in her first TV interview since the breakup.
Joining Lorraine Kelly on Monday’s episode of the ITV show, the TV presenter, 43, also gave an health update after having two tumours removed from jaw.
Fearne announced her split from Jesse, the son of Rolling Stones bass guitarist Ronnie Wood, in December after 10 years of marriage.
She has since made swipes at Jesse and moved on with TV director Elliot Hegarty, with the pair having been seen kissing during a recent night out.
Fearne has had a difficult few months after undergoing surgery to remove two benign tumours from her jawline, just days before her split with Jesse emerged.
She told host Lorraine: ‘It’s all very amicable and kids are doing great. I am in a very good place.’place.’

Discussing her recent surgery, she added: ‘I feel very grateful to have completely recovered.
‘I feel really good. I have a lot of people reaching out who have had the same thing.’
Davina McCall, 56, announced in November she’d been diagnosed with a colloid cyst, a rare type of benign brain tumour, and has supported Fearne.
She continued: ‘Everyone needs a Davina. She’s been amazing, weird that we had the same health thing going on at the same time. She’s so calming and we speak every day. She is just the best
It comes after Fearne has seemingly made another thinly-veiled dig at her ex-husband as she gushed that she is the happiest she’s ever been in a positive update.
Speaking to Scott Mills on his BBC Radio 2 breakfast show, Fearne gushed that she is ‘really happy’ and is ‘springing out of bed in the morning ready for life’.
Scott, who has known Fearne for 25 years, said he has never seen her ‘more positive or happier’, prompting Fearne to agree and reply: ‘Yeah I feel great!’
