RHOP’s Wendy & Eddie Osefo Speak Out After Fraud Arr3st
“Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Edward Osefo, are back home safely with their family and in good spirits,” a representative for the couple told People in a statement Friday. “They are grateful for the outpouring of concern and support from friends, fans, and colleagues.”
The rep added that the pair “look forward to their day in court,” asking for privacy as they “focus on their family and the legal process ahead.”
According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Wendy and Eddie were taken into custody and charged with 16 counts, seven of which are felonies tied to alleged “false/misleading info fraud” exceeding $300. Both have since posted bond and been released.
Fans have since rallied around the couple, sharing words of encouragement on social media. One user commented, “Praying for you and Eddie, Dr. Wendy,” while another wrote, “Keep your head up.”
Wendy & Eddie Osefo Thank Fans & Focus on Family
In the days following their release, support for the couple poured in from fans and fellow Bravolebrities. The Osefos, who joined “The Real Housewives of Potomac” in Season 5, are parents to three children — Karter, 12, Kruz, 10, and Kamrynn, 6. They recently celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary in August.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office statement detailed that deputies first responded to a burglary and theft report at the couple’s Maryland home in April 2024. Authorities allege that some of the stolen items reported — valued over $200,000 — had later been returned to stores by the owners.
During the investigation, detectives also said they found images of a homeowner wearing jewelry that was previously listed as stolen. Prosecutors later claimed the couple filed a $450,000 personal property insurance claim, according to bail recommendation documents obtained by TMZ.
Wendy & Eddie Osefo Remain Hopeful Amid Legal Troubles
Despite the legal challenges, both Wendy and Eddie remain optimistic and focused on the future. Wendy, 41, a former Johns Hopkins University professor and political commentator, made history as the first Black woman to earn a Ph.D. in Public Affairs-Community Development from Rutgers University (Camden).
Eddie, an attorney and founder of the cannabis brand Happy Eddie, has also expressed his gratitude for their community’s support.
The Osefos’ representative emphasized that the couple is “committed to transparency and cooperation” as the case proceeds.
