“Dancing with the Stars” champions Witney Carson and Robert Irwin recently reunited in Australia, and they showed fans that their dancing partnership is far from over.

In January 2026, the popular Season 34 mirrorball trophy winners hung out together at the Australia Zoo during Carson’s trip to Irwin’s home country, where they couldn’t help but get back into dance mode, much to the excitement of fans.

Robert Irwin & Witney Carson Danced Together at the Australia Zoo

In a clip posted to Instagram on Jan. 17, Irwin, 22, sat atop a Toyota Land Cruiser wearing a tan zookeeper uniform, while Carson, 32, dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, leaned alongside the vehicle.

“Witney, do you ever miss it?” Irwin asked the DWTS pro.

“A little bit, yeah,” Carson replied.

“Should we do the thing?” the zookeeper asked.

“Let’s do it!” Carson agreed as the familiar “Dancing with the Stars” announcer’s voice said, “Dancing the jive, with his partner Witney Carson, it’s Robert Irwin.”

Irwin then leaped from the top of the vehicle to begin his dance with his pro partner as the Steppenwolf classic “Born to Be Wild” played.

In the video, the DWTS duo danced in different areas of the zoo, where Irwin works as a zookeeper. After trading some moves in front of a zoo entrance honoring Irwin’s own late father, “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, the two ended their dance at an outdoor pavilion at the zoo.

The clip was captioned with, “Still dancing, just a different ballroom @australiazoo.”

Fans had a big reaction to the outdoor dance, with some describing it as “legendary.”

“I vote for more dancing @australiazoo,” Irwin’s mom, Terri, commented on Instagram.

Robert Irwin & Witney Carson’s Very First DWTS Dance Was a ‘Born to Be Wild’ Jive

In September, Irwin and Carson kicked off their “Dancing with the Stars” partnership by performing their very first jive dance to the same Steppenwolf song.

Irwin wore a Hawaiian shirt and Carson a matching two-piece mini for the couple’s energetic jive to the 1968 rock hit, and it was the first time fans got a look at his leaping moves and fancy footwork with Carson. The dance was so impressive that Irwin and Carson tied with Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas for the highest score of the DWTS premiere night.

The couple repeated their jive in Week 10 to the Prince Night song, “Baby I’m a Star,” to show how much they had improved their dance technique.
