However, that might change when season 35 airs in 2026, as DWTS producers have their eyes set on beloved cast members from Netflix’s hit show, Love on the Spectrum.
“They’re eyeing a couple of people from Love on the Spectrum.
“It’s a no-brainer, as the cast is basically universally beloved. The Netflix and ABC teams work closely together.
“So it’s a great pairing,” an insider exclusively told The U.S. Sun, before adding: “It would also make history as the first autistic contestants to be featured on the show.”
As far as what candidates would most likely get chosen, the source claimed that there are two stars in particular who are being considered.
“In terms of who would be the most likely candidates to make the cut, both Tanner and Connor’s teams are in talks with DWTS to see if they can work out a deal and make it happen.
“It might be an either/or situation, or both, but there’s a chance both guys would be on it.
“There’s also an added layer of support for them if they are both on it at the same time.

“They would be the two guys in the running for next year,” the source added.
The Netflix reality stars tested out their ballroom shoes by attending a taping of DWTS on Tuesday.
Connor Tomlinson, 26, and Tanner Smith, 26, both attended the live DWTS filming this week and proudly documented their journey on the dance floor.
The pair posed with their “favorite” contestant this season, Robert Irwin, as well as other dancers, including Dylan Efron, Emma Slater, and Andy Richter.
They also got a chance to talk with judge Derek Hough, who teased that fans have to “see them on the dance floor” next season.
“Spent a night among the stars,” Connor gushed of his night out on the town in Los Angeles.
LOVE IS LOVE
Connor and Tanner both became breakout stars when they opened up about their journey to find love on the Netflix reality series, Love on the Spectrum.
Both Connor and Tanner joined the show in its second season, which aired on the streaming platform in 2024.
Season 3 of the series aired earlier this year, and season 4 is expected to come out in early 2026.
