Former NBA forward Danilo Gallinari was recently enjoying a vacation in Puerto Rico when his wife Eleonora Boi was attacked by a shark.

Gallinari and Boi were at a beach in Puerto Rico’s Carolina Resort when this shark attack occurred. As if the thought of a shark attack wasn’t scary enough, Gallinari’s wife revealed that she’s pregnant with their third child.

Boi, an Italian TV presenter, shared a photo from the hospital along with a message for fans worrying about her health. Although she had to undergo surgery on her leg, she’s expected to make a full recovery.

As for the baby, Boi reassured everyone that her third child is doing just fine.

“It was the worst day of my life, maybe my grandmother Nella was right when she said, ‘on the seas you traitors.’ I never thought I could get attacked by a shark and I was near the shore and on a super crowded beach,” she wrote on Instagram. “Thankfully me and my baby are fine, I was rushed to the rescue and the surgery to fix my poor bruised leg went well. Now I just have to recover from the great scare and try to forgive the great friend who betrayed me. Shark will be hearing from my legals soon.”

Boi said she had to miss a Bad Bunny concert because of the shark attack. We’d have to imagine she’s OK with that considering she dodged life-threatening injuries.

“Thank you all for the great love and thank you for worrying about us with a message or a prayer,” she added. “I thank my husband who despite being married to Fantozzi-Boi he gave me all his love and courage.”

Gallinari’s brother, Federico, couldn’t help but crack a joke about this situation. He said, “We already caught the shark I think.”

Boi and Gallinari have been married since July 2022. They share two children together.

Gallinari is currently playing basketball for Vaqueros de Bayamón. He spent time on the Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks in 2024.
