A viral rumor about LSU linebacker Whit Weeks has sparked discussion following Lane Kiffin’s decision to leave Ole Miss in favor of the vacancy at Baton Rouge.

The head coach is set to take over the Tigers in the wake of Brian Kelly’s firing, in turn creating a vacancy at the University of Mississippi.

His daughter, Landry Kiffin, is also leaving with him, which suggests she will be spending a lot of time with Weeks, who is her boyfriend.

According to a new report, however, the LB is entering the transfer portal.

“BREAKING: LSU linebacker Whit Weeks, boyfriend of Lane Kiffin’s daughter Landry, is entering the transfer portal just days after Kiffin was named the Tigers head coach,” it reads.

The tweet caused quite a stir.

“Transfer portals are ruining college football,” someone commented.

“He’s prone to not being a starter next season, Lane Kiffin his bringing 5 Louisiana freshman on defense over from Ole Miss on top of grabbing some established players from other schools who from Louisiana,” someone else wrote.

“He determined to do one of two things: make it look like Kiffin didn’t go to LSU for him because he’s best player that was there or play him and get a little friendly (or maybe not friendly idk) rivalry started,” said a third.

It doesn’t appear that these fans noticed the tweet came from the parody account No3, not the reputable On3. It has been viewed over three million times, marking a huge score for the fake news merchants.

Whit Weeks and Landry Kiffin went Instagram official with their relationship just two months ago, and no one is happier than him at the moment.

While Ole Miss reportedly threw Lane Kiffin’s clothes out and some of his dirty laundry has been aired since his departure, Whit is having a field day.

He has been trolling the Rebels since the news broke, posting a photo of himself pretending to cry to his Instagram story and adding laughing emojis. He also shared a post from Barstool’s Ole Miss account showing Landry sitting in his lap, captioned “We were blind.”

“Ya love to see it,” he wrote.

This does not seem like the behavior of someone who’s entering the transfer portal.
