Dancing with the Stars’ Alix Earle feels ‘humiliated’ by her stepmother Ashley Dupre’s cruel remarks toward Cheryl Burke, according to the Daily MailCredit: Shutterstock Editorial

However, Alix, 24, fears that Ashley might have sabotaged her chances of winning, according to an article published by the Daily Mail on Friday, in which a source claimed there’s “tension” between the mother-daughter duo since the incident.

Ashley came under fire for her reaction to Cheryl’s score of Alix and her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy’s Tango routine.

The former DWTS pro was the only judge to give the pair a score of 9, making them one point short of a perfect score.

This angered Ashley, who recorded herself watching the episode from home and yelling at the TV, “Oh, go take more Ozempic,” immediately following Cheryl’s score reveal.

Fans were livid at Ashley for “body-shaming” the star, especially considering Cheryl has been open about her struggles with body dysmorphia and feeling comfortable in her own skin.

Cheryl later responded to Ashley’s outburst, calling her out for setting a poor example for the younger generation, including her own children, who were sitting beside her in the video.

Ashley eventually apologized for her words, but Alix is reportedly concerned that the damage is already done.

‘NOTICEABLE TENSION’

“The Earles keep family issues private, but lately there has been noticeable tension between Alix and her stepmom, Ashley,” an insider told the Daily Mail.

“Ashley likes attention just as much as Alix, so she’ll say and post whatever she wants without thinking about the repercussions. This smack-talking of Cheryl Burke was a scenario where she crossed the line.”

The source continued, “Alix would have talked to her stepmom about it immediately and told her what she did was wrong.

“I’m sure Ashley wasn’t thrilled about posting an apology, but she did it for Alix. She loves Alix and would not want to get on her bad side,” they added.

Alix previously spoke out about how her relationship with her stepmother wasn’t always as close as it is now.

In an episode of the Hot Mess podcast in 2023, Alix and her full sister Ashtin, 22, revealed they would pull pranks on their new stepmom and didn’t welcome her with open arms when she first joined the family.

Ashley is famously known for being one of the escorts involved in the highly publicized scandal centered around New York Governor Eliot Spitzer in 2008.

She married Alix’s father, Thomas “TJ” Earle, shortly after, and they had three children, Alix’s half-siblings, Thomas, Ashley, and Penelope.

FAMILY DIVIDE

But Ashley’s actions might have put a wrench in the duo’s progress, as the competition in the ballroom stiffens.

“She works so hard in the ballroom and gets upset over how difficult it can be,” the source said, referencing Alix’s previous breakdown during rehearsals while struggling to grasp the routine.

“So, to find out that her stepmom would make damaging comments that could potentially affect fan votes, that could completely break her.”

The insider went on, “Alix has been pulling the weight in the family when it comes to maintaining a good reputation. Ashley has a known history of breaking up marriages and being an escort.

“The fact that Ashley would make mean comments about a famous person really just shows she hasn’t changed and just wants attention. People who know her don’t take her seriously half the time.”

Alix and Val have continuously hovered at the top of the leaderboard, with many fans predicting they’re the pair to beat.

The TikToker is one of six celebrities remaining in the competition heading into next week’s 20th anniversary show.
