Sheryl Swoopes uses Serena Williams to attack Caitlin Clark’s fans and drive them away from her
Swoopes stands firm amid controversy

WNBA Hall of Famer Sheryl Swoopes isn’t backing down from critics who took issue with her recent show of support for Paige Bueckers.
After fans of Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark voiced frustration over Swoopes wearing a Bueckers t-shirt during an appearance on the “Gil’s Arena” podcast, the former Houston Comets star issued a confident response.
The controversy began when Swoopes appeared on the show wearing a shirt featuring the image of Bueckers, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft.
The moment didn’t go unnoticed by social media users, especially those aligned with Clark, who has built one of the most passionate fan bases in women’s sports.
The Mirror reported Tuesday that Clark fans were upset by what they viewed as a subtle jab at their favorite player, who was the face of women’s college basketball over the past two seasons and now headlines the Fever‘s young core.
Many critics accused Swoopes of harboring bias against Clark, reviving past tensions from the previous season. But Swoopes had something to say in response.
Swoopes stands firm
On Wednesday, the four-time WNBA champion took to X to address the growing social media frenzy.
In a tweet that paired a dancing GIF of Serena Williams from Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX halftime show, Swoopes shared a message that spoke volumes without naming names.
“I love my fans!!! Yall make it a great day!!! Remember haters gonna hate! Go be great!” she posted.
With Clark‘s meteoric rise and Bueckers‘ strong return from injury to lead UConn to the 2025 national title, the stage is set for intense debates and rivalries among WNBA fans.

“30 MILLION PEOPLE ONCE LOST THEIR MINDS OVER… A CURTAIN.” Believe it or not, one of the funniest moments in TV history came from a simple green curtain. Back in 1976, the Carol Burnett Show delivered a scene so ridiculous that the entire country practically stopped breathing from laughter. Carol walked down a grand staircase wearing a “gown” made from green velvet drapes—curtain rod still hanging across her shoulders like she’d ripped it straight off the wall. The audience exploded the second they saw her. She didn’t even make it halfway down the steps before people were doubled over, crying with laughter. Costume legend Bob Mackie came up with the idea as a quick joke, but when Carol caught sight of herself in that over-the-top outfit, she literally collapsed laughing. And nearly 50 years later, it’s still just as hilarious as the day it aired.
Long before memes and viral videos dominated pop culture, The Carol Burnett Show delivered one of the most unforgettable comedic…
