Sherrone Moore is putting his Michigan chapter behind him, literally. His Ann Arbor-area home just hit the market for $1.7 million. The listing comes seven months after Michigan fired him as head coach. He once helped lead the Wolverines to a national title. Moore’s departure followed a university investigation into his conduct.
The 5,858-square-foot house sits on a half-acre lot in Scio Township. It features a three-car garage, a pool, and a chef-style kitchen. The house was built in 2005 and includes a pond and hot tub. Moore bought the property in 2023 for $1.3 million. That was before he was named Michigan’s head coach in 2024.
Detroit News first reported the listing on July 23. Records show the home includes hardwood floors and three fireplaces. Renovations on the property reportedly cost around $300,000. Real estate agents expect strong interest given the location.
Moore had been considered one of the sport’s rising young coaches. He took over for Jim Harbaugh after Michigan’s 2023 championship season. Few expected his tenure to end this way just two years later.

Michigan fired Moore in December after an internal investigation. The school said it found credible evidence of an inappropriate relationship. That relationship involved a former staff member named Paige Shiver. Moore’s firing over the relationship ended his two-season run as head coach. Players reportedly noticed unusual behavior from Moore in the weeks before. Some had seen him near the staffer’s apartment late at night.
The investigation into the matter wasn’t cheap for the university. Michigan reportedly paid law firm Jenner & Block more than $11 million. The findings concluded the athletic department wasn’t always transparent. They also found accountability slipped in handling certain situations. Michigan released a summary of those findings just last week. The report stopped short of calling the misconduct widespread.

Beyond the firing, Moore faced criminal charges tied to the same incident. He allegedly went to Shiver’s apartment the day he was let go. Moore eventually pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges. Prosecutors had initially pursued more serious charges, including a felony. That felony charge was later dropped as part of the plea deal. In April, a judge sentenced him to 18 months of probation.
His attorney, Ellen Michaels, spoke briefly after the sentencing.
“He and his wife, Kelli, are ready to move forward with their family.”
Selling the mansion appears to be part of that next chapter. The sale listing does not mention Moore’s coaching career. Michigan has since moved on with new leadership in its athletic department.
