Sherrone Moore was fired and jailed in a matter of hours.

It’s been a crazy end to the year for Sherrone Moore.

Since losing to Ohio State in late November, the former Michigan head coach has been fired, arrested, and some of the more embarrassing aspects of his life have been exposed. This all happened in less than 24 hours.

News of Moore’s firing for having an “inappropriate relationship with a staff member” broke on Wednesday. Hours later, he was in jail.

The Washtenaw County Jail did not disclose any information on why he was detained. However, the Associated Press reported that he was still in custody on Thursday morning.

There’s also nothing on possible court appearances or details of a bond.

The Pittsfield Township Police Department confirmed that they were called to the scene of an alleged assault in Pittsfield Township. They also revealed that they had taken an individual into custody. What they did not do was reveal a name.

“Given the nature of the allegations, the need to maintain the integrity of the investigation, and its current status at this time, we are prohibited from releasing additional details,” the department said in a statement.

Despite the above, there are widespread reports on social media claiming that Moore was arrested after breaking into the home of the staffer he allegedly had an affair with. It’s said that he threatened to kill her, as well as himself.

There are also claims of Moore threatening to take his own life during an argument with his wife, then driving to his assistant’s home and holding a knife to her throat.

The staffer in question is believed to be Paige Shiver. The former head coach allegedly forced Shiver to get an abortion after impregnating her and then stalking her.

Michigan stated that it fired Moore for cause after discovering evidence of their relationship.

“This conduct constitutes a clear violation of university policy, and UM maintains zero tolerance for such behavior,” athletic director Warde Manuel said.

Moore is married and has three young daughters.

He signed a five-year deal with a base annual salary of $5.5 million last year. Michigan won’t have to buy out the remaining years because he was fired for cause.
