Ole Miss fans have completely turned on Lane Kiffin after he bolted from the program to sign with the LSU Tigers.
After weeks of rumors that gained steam by the day, the 50-year-old Kiffin broke the news of his decision on X on Sunday afternoon that he was leaving, days after leading the Rebels to an Egg Bowl victory over Mississippi State and a program-record 11th regular-season win.
“After a lot of prayer and time spent with family, I made the difficult decision to accept the head coaching position at LSU,” Kiffin wrote.
“I was hoping to complete a historic six-season run with this year’s team by leading Ole Miss through the playoffs, capitalizing on the team’s incredible success and their commitment to finish strong, and investing everything into a playoff run with guardrails in place to protect the program in any areas of concern.
“My request to do so was denied by [athletic director] Keith Carter despite the team also asking him to allow me to keep coaching them so they could better maintain their high level of performance. Unfortunately, that means Friday’s Egg Bowl was my last game coaching the Rebels.”

Nobody in Mississippi wanted to hear or see anything from him anymore. The man they once called a her had shunned them for another program from the next state over. In fact, hundreds of them showed up at an airport just to boo him and give him the finger.
Now that Lane Kiffin is gone, so is the loyalty his former fan base had for him. That has now led some of them to expose his dirty laundry.
One fan exposed how Landry allegedly had an affair with a 19-year-old assistant who was paid $75,000, received free tuition, and was guaranteed a job at Ole Miss for life after the former coach allegedly did something to her.
Another fan shared a shirtless picture of Kiffin, accompanied by a caption that read, “Hey Lane Kiffin, which underage girl did you send this to?”
In the meantime, Ole Miss quickly announced his replacement, promoting defensive coordinator Pete Golding.
Kiffin might end up taking offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr., general manager Billy Glasscock, wide receivers coach George McDonald, and head strength & conditioning coach Nick Savage with him to LSU.
Ole Miss and LSU have alternated wins and losses against each other since 2020, with the Rebels winning in 2025.
