Arch Manning seated on the bench

Arch Manning was caught mouthing words during the Citrus Bowl.

Arch Manning had the biggest win of his college career. Manning used arm and legs to lead No. 14 Texas to a 41-27 Citrus Bowl win over No. 18 Michigan.

With this, the Longhorns finished the season with a 10-3 record. This was a great ending in the first season when they announced Manning as their starting quarterback. At one point in the contest, Manning had a moment of realization or frustration while seated on the bench.

Manning was caught mouthing expletives at his team while he was sitting on the bench. He allegedly said: “I’m just gonna stop giving a f-ck.”

The score on the board read 31-27 at the time. There doesn’t appear to be a reason why he might have thrown expletives. It is possible that it could be an isolated conversation away from the football field.

In the game, Arch Manning completed 21 of 35 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns. He also had two more scores rushing, carrying the ball nine times for 155 yards.

Texas quarterback Arch Manning took the next step forward next season after helping the Longhorns secure a Citrus Bowl victory. Manning revealed his thoughts on the Citrus Bowl after the game.

“Nothing against the Citrus Bowl, but I think he played it twice,” Manning told reporters Wednesday. “I don’t want to have to play in it twice.”

He previously announced that he’ll forgo the 2026 NFL draft and return to the Longhorns. It seems Manning has his sights set on a College Football Playoff appearance next year. The Longhorns appeared to be a playoff contender before the year. However, they dropped two of their first five games.

Arch Manning struggled out of the gate in his first three games. He threw for 579 yards and six touchdowns compared to three interceptions. More time helped him out dearly. Arch Manning grew more comfortable both in and out of the pocket.

The next nine games saw him throw for 2,363 yards and 18 touchdowns. 2026 is shaping up to be a great year.

Every seat in the arena was draped with a T-shirt reading “Hvala za vse,” which translates from Slovenian to “thank you for everything.” It was a thoughtful nod to Doncic’s heritage and impact on the franchise.

Before tip-off, during the starting lineup announcements, the Mavericks played a tribute video showcasing some of Doncic’s most iconic moments in a Dallas jersey. The emotional gesture clearly resonated—moving Doncic to tears in front of the crowd that once called him their own.
