Future of Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss is getting stranger than ever, and fans think they got some clue. The Rebels’ head coach posted a simple Thanksgiving photo of his family, but the plain table in the picture created a question. Is Kiffin preparing to leave Oxford?

And it’s true that Kiffin is at the center of one of the biggest coaching stories in college football. Ole Miss is 10-1 and chasing a College Football Playoff spot. At the same time, LSU and Florida both want him, and LSU has a good offer.

“While specific details of the contract remain fluid, sources told Yahoo Sports that school executives have discussed a seven-year, incentive-laden deal worth at least $90 million — figures that would make Kiffin, at the very least, tied for the highest-paid coach in the sport,” per Yahoo Sports reporter Ross Dellenger.

Ole Miss still hopes to keep him and plans to talk about his future after Friday’s Egg Bowl, although till now everything is going good.

Athletic Director Keith Carter said last week, “Coach Kiffin and I have had many pointed and positive conversations regarding his future at Ole Miss, including meeting today with Chancellor Boyce.”

That helped calm fans for a while until the Thanksgiving photo came all over again.

Social media erupted within minutes of Kiffin posting the image. Fans gave their best thoughts on a simple table in the photo and created their own stories.

One person wrote, “That’s a table that says I’m moving in so many ways.”

Another said, “Their dining room table must be in Baton Rouge already.”

A third added, “Documenting their last Thanksgiving in Oxford before making the move to Baton Rouge.”

The reaction online matched the growing tension regarding Kiffin’s future. Many believe LSU has the best chance to land Kiffin because of its huge offer and a rumored NIL budget of more than $25 million. Dellenger also said, “The school is, as well, promising significant NIL-related roster investments exceeding $25 million — perhaps the most important determining factor for the coach.”

Florida is chasing him too, which only adds more pressure as the weekend gets closer.

No one knows where Kiffin will be coaching in 2026. The only sure thing is that fans will analyze every clue until he announces his decision.
