Stephen Curry admitted his body will ultimately decide when he retires but said his passion for basketball remains strong.
While the Golden State Warriors are in a dilemma amid Stephen Curry’s injury concerns, they do not have complete control over how the situation will go.
However, the three point machine has not officially aired any signs of finally hanging his boots. Instead, Steph is anticipating a major roster move at the Bay Area camp next summer.
Though nothing of it confirms he will keep on nailing the game, the Warriors can’t ignore the elephant in the room.
In a recent appearance on The Athletic Show alongside his father Dell Curry, the four-time champion revealed that his body will ultimately dictate when it’s time to retire.
“I think your body is the first point of information,” Curry said. “Just what it takes to get ready for a game is a lot different now than it was a decade ago.”
Even in his 17th NBA season, the 38-year-old guard remains one of the league’s most productive stars. Curry is averaging 27.2 points per game, continuing to carry a major offensive load for Golden State despite battling injuries that have limited him to just 39 games this season.
Still, Curry insists his passion for the game hasn’t faded.
“When I’m out there on the court right now, I still get lost in the fun. It’s still my happy place. The competition, the camaraderie, the chasing something that matters — that still gets me going. And I don’t see that stopping anytime soon.”
That mindset has helped Curry sustain elite conditioning throughout his career. His relentless movement without the ball remains one of the most exhausting assignments for defenders, something opponents often joke about during games.
Warriors Might Have The Final Stephen Curry Chapter In Mind

The Golden State Warriors may already be thinking beyond the current season, and the focus appears to be protecting the final chapter of Stephen Curry’s career.
According to ESPN’s Anthony Slater, the organization is increasingly cautious about rushing Curry back from injury, even as fans hope to see the superstar return soon.
“Next season has become the season in this final Steph Era,” Slater said on The Hoop Collective. “I don’t think at all the Warriors want to jeopardize that.”
Curry is away from action since January 30 with “runner’s knee,” a condition that causes pain and swelling around the kneecap and can worsen if aggravated. Although the injury initially seemed minor, his recovery timeline has stretched longer than expected.
That uncertainty has reportedly forced the Warriors to consider a difficult possibility to prioritize his long-term health over the remainder of this season.
