Sydney Colson recently shared her heartfelt praise for Caitlin Clark after an emotional farewell to Indiana Fever.

The Indiana Fever’s 2025 season ended on a bittersweet note. Despite the array of injuries that tested their depth, the team pushed to the WNBA semifinals against the Las Vegas Aces, falling just short of a stunning upset. Though Sydney Colson took a dig at Fever’s injury report, her health could have been a better addition to the roster only if Indiana had been to the Finals.

However, the team’s veteran guard emerged as a guiding voice, even after her own season-ending injury. While heading out of the Indianapolis camp, she shared some heartfelt praises for star rookie Caitlin Clark.

Sydney Colson Praised Caitlin Clark After Emotional Fever Farewell

The shorthanded Fever had a couple of good showings, but the Aces had answers to all of them. With A’ja Wilson’s magical parking with Jewel Loyd, Las Vegas kept the Fever in check throughout he series.

However, with the Fever’s season ending, it also marked the end of Colson’s impressive run with the team. And while it came after a struggling stretch on the court, the superstar guard couldn’t hold her true emotions on parking alongside the Iowa alum.

“It was cool being on a team with her, getting to see her in another light. It was good to see a lighter side of her. Unfortunately, when you’re injured, you have to adjust your mindset and get mentally tougher. I kept talking to her a lot about staying vocal. You don’t want to lose this time with your teammates just because you’re sidelined—you can still lead and build relationships,” she said.

“Don’t let it be a wasted season just because you can’t contribute physically. I think her desire to become a better leader is clear… but seeing her fun side—that was the most important part. I just kept telling her, more of that,” Colson added.

However, Colson’s words for Clark flow from their shared journey through a challenging season. A two-time champion, Colson tore her ACL in August, missing the playoffs but staying engaged as a mentor. She watched Clark navigate a groin injury that limited her to 13 regular-season games.

Sydney Colson Received Heartfelt Words From Fever Teammates

The outpouring of support from Colson’s teammates says much about her impact on the young roster. On Tuesday, she posted a season recap on Instagram, while showing gratitude for her time at the Indiana camp.

“What a season! Genuinely enjoyed this team and what we did on the court & in the showers! I knew in the offseason that God was placing me where I needed to be to grow & learn some necessary lessons & that’s exactly what happened. And at the end of the day, I earned one more championship and one more ACL so life is good,” Colson wrote.

The response was overwhelming. Clark led with a heart emoji, a quiet nod to their shared recovery journeys. Other teammates followed with heartfelt messages. Additionally, Lexie Hull quipped that “showering just won’t be the same this offseason,” while Aliyah Boston wrote, “Love you so much babes.” Natasha Howard added four hearts, and Aari McDonald chimed in with, “Syd 🥹🫶🏾.” The official Fever account also joined the love fest.
