Jeremiah has dealt with a series of medical issues over the years.

In April 2022, the TV personality was hospitalized for an extended time while doctors struggled to determine the cause of his symptoms.

He explained what happened in a Facebook live session, saying he was rushed to the emergency room and upon arrival he felt “weak and shaky.”

The TLC star also said his heart rate and blood pressure were low, leaving more questions than answers about the reason for his drastic health decline.

After several days in the Intensive Care Unit, Jeremiah said doctors concluded that he had ketoacidosis (DKA), a life-threatened complication of diabetes, according to the Mayo Clinic.

They also determined that the TV star had an infection, which was resolved with antibiotics.

Jeremiah revealed he eventually checked himself out “against medical advice” because he was “going insane” and was back home recovering.

He said that he hoped “everything will go better now” following the scary medical episode.

Just weeks earlier, Jeremiah announced that he and his wife, Carmela Mendez, had split, shortly after she’d filed a restraining order against him.

The Ohio native told fans in an Instagram post that the pair “just didn’t work out” as a couple.

Jeremiah starred on TLC’s Breaking Amish, which followed young Amish and Mennonite adults depart their traditional home lives to experience the modern world for the first time, from its start in 2012 until the show’s end in 2012.
