The love for Trevon Diggs has fallen far in Dallas.

The Dallas Cowboys cornerback led the NFL with 11 interceptions in the 2021 season, tying the Dallas Cowboys’ single-season record for the most picks. That season earned him his first Pro Bowl selection and first-team All-Pro honors.

That season led to his receiving a new 5-year, $97 million contract with the Dallas Cowboys in 2023.

Unfortunately, things have changed in 2025.

Before the game against the Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus said there could be some big changes on defense, including benching Trevon Diggs.

He wasn’t benched for the entire game, but he certainly wasn’t starting.

Because of that decision, Diggs was tuned out from the team as footage showed him not caring about Dak Prescott’s pregame speech.

Issues with Diggs go back to the offseason when the Dallas Cowboys exercised a clause that cost him $500,000. The docked pay stems from Diggs failing to participate in at least 84 percent of offseason workouts.

Diggs has struggled this season and it has led to huge plays for the opposing teams.

Before tip-off, during the starting lineup announcements, the Mavericks played a tribute video showcasing some of Doncic’s most iconic moments in a Dallas jersey. The emotional gesture clearly resonated—moving Doncic to tears in front of the crowd that once called him their own.

Luka delivered a dazzling performance against his former team, putting up 45 points on 16-of-28 shooting, including 7-of-10 from beyond the arc. He also added 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals in a game that showed exactly why he’s one of the best in the league.

From the opening tip, Doncic was locked in. By halftime, Doncic had racked up 31 points on 11-of-16 shooting in just 19 minutes—marking the 10th time in his career he’s scored 30 or more in a single half.

Though his scoring slowed in the second half, he continued to lead effectively, securing both a Lakers win and an unforgettable showing for the fans in Dallas.
