Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper are returning to New York City’s Times Square for CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen.” They are good pals and super hosts, and audiences love watching them as they ring in the New Year, but what do we know about their personal lives? Are they single or do they have partners? And how did these BFFs meet?
This is everything you need to know!
Andy Cohen & Anderson Cooper’s Relationship
Cohen and Cooper are great friends and have known each other for 30 years. However, their friendship started as a blind date in the ‘90s, Swoon reports. A friend set them up, but they did not connect romantically. What they did get was a lifelong friendship, and it would never be anything more.
“I just think it’s not what our relationship is based on,” Cohen told Howard Stern on “The Howard Stern Show” in 2022. “We’re just friends; that’s not a part of it. I think, at this point, we know each other too well. We’re not attracted to each other in that way.”

At present, Cohen is single. He is a single father to two children, and on an appearance on his show, “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” in July 2025, he told guest Charlize Theron that he was on the dating app Raya.
Cooper is also single, but he coparents and raises a son with his former partner, Benjamin Maisani. The couple broke up in 2018 after being together for over 10 years. “It’s awesome,” Cooper told People in September 2021 of coparenting. “It’s probably an unusual setup, but I knew he would be a great dad, and he is. We’re exes, but we’re family to each other, and we love each other as family and as co-parents.”
He continued, “There’s the usual bickering that any two people have when there’s a kid involved, like what time should he go to swimming class, or should he wear the overalls, or whatever. But all silly, minor things. We get along great.”
