Coco Jones revealed how Donovan Mitchell first messaged her on Instagram, a moment she missed. The story later turned into a real-life romance that led to their engagement after keeping things private.
Coco Jones is trending for a moment that mixes humor with honesty. During a recent interview, the Grammy-winning singer shared how her love story with Donovan Mitchell began. It did not start with fireworks. It started with a missed message, long before the two later got engaged following the Cleveland Cavaliers’ playoff exit last season.
Jones shared the moment while speaking with Complex News. A short clip from the interview was posted on X on December 17, 2025. In the video, she explains how Mitchell first reached out through Instagram years ago.
“Umm… he actually DM’d me years ago. It was something with a red heart… But I ain’t see it though. And I’m glad I didn’t see it, ‘cause it wouldn’t have worked anyway….We met at a celebrity game, or like… some celebrity event,” Jones said while laughing. She explained the message came after she appeared in a promotional project linked to Mitchell’s Adidas shoe line and the show Bel-Air.
Jones added that the timing was off at the time. She said it would not have worked at that stage of her life. The two later met in person at a celebrity event, where the connection finally began to grow.
Their relationship stayed mostly private at first. Public sightings began in mid-2024 at events such as Michael Rubin’s Fourth of July party. When news of their engagement became public, social media quickly filled with reactions, while Jones later confirmed she was happy but preferred to keep personal details limited.

As the conversation moved forward, Jones gave fans another reason to smile. This time, it was not about messages or first meetings. It was about music, feelings, and how her personal life slowly found its way into her art.
Jones revealed that one song on her debut album, Why Not More? was directly tied to Mitchell. She said when asked which track reminded her of him. She also shared a small detail many listeners missed. Mitchell’s voice appears on the intro of “Thang 4 U,” quietly setting the tone.
That album marked a big moment in her career. Why Not More? ranked No. 4 on Rap-Up’s Best R&B Albums of 2025 list and earned a nomination for Best R&B Album at the 2026 Grammy Awards. Jones will also perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing” at Super Bowl LX, showcasing how music and life are moving forward together.
Luka Doncic ‘destroys’ the Mavs on his return. Gets standing ovation and shows love to Mark Cuban

Luka Doncic hits 45 points in his first game in Dallas since being traded to the Los Angeles.
It’s rare for a home crowd to cheer the visiting team, but Luka Doncic’s return to Dallas was no ordinary night.
Just days before February’s trade deadline, the Mavericks shocked the NBA by sending their 26-year-old superstar to the Lakers—a move that outraged fans and sparked backlash toward GM Nico Harrison.
On Wednesday, Doncic played his first game back in Dallas since the trade. The arena was filled with fans in both his old Mavs and new Lakers jerseys, many chanting “Fire Nico” in protest.
Despite the emotion in the air, Doncic delivered a dominant performance, scoring a game-high 45 points to lead the Lakers to a 112-97 win. It was a powerful return for one of the league’s brightest stars—and a night Dallas won’t soon forget
The Mavericks pay tribute to Luka Dončić
While the Mavericks’ decision to trade Luka Doncic remains heavily criticized, they handled his return to Dallas with undeniable grace. The organization made sure his first game back as a Laker was met with respect and appreciation.
Every seat in the arena was draped with a T-shirt reading “Hvala za vse,” which translates from Slovenian to “thank you for everything.” It was a thoughtful nod to Doncic’s heritage and impact on the franchise.
Before tip-off, during the starting lineup announcements, the Mavericks played a tribute video showcasing some of Doncic’s most iconic moments in a Dallas jersey. The emotional gesture clearly resonated—moving Doncic to tears in front of the crowd that once called him their own.
Luka Doncic ‘DESTROYS’ his old team
Luka delivered a dazzling performance against his former team, putting up 45 points on 16-of-28 shooting, including 7-of-10 from beyond the arc. He also added 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals in a game that showed exactly why he’s one of the best in the league.
From the opening tip, Doncic was locked in. By halftime, Doncic had racked up 31 points on 11-of-16 shooting in just 19 minutes—marking the 10th time in his career he’s scored 30 or more in a single half.
Though his scoring slowed in the second half, he continued to lead effectively, securing both a Lakers win and an unforgettable showing for the fans in Dallas.
