Tim Tebow’s wife, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, had a major announcement to make this week that her and her family are in mourning.

The former Miss Universe took to social media on Monday and announced that her father had passed away.

“Two years ago, we got the call that changed everything — Pappa was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer,” Demi-Leigh wrote on Instagram.

“The last two years have been incredibly tough, yet through it all, he never lost his humor, kindness, compassion, or his deep love for Jesus and for our family,” she announced.

“We met some of the kindest doctors and medical staff along the way — people who cared for him so tenderly that many became like friends. Thank you to everyone who loved him, cheered him on, and faithfully advocated for him.

“Pappa, there will never be enough words to describe my gratitude. Thank you for your endless love and care, for your jokes, pranks, and stories, especially the one where you made your classmate believe the dried wood glue was custard!

“You weren’t always the biggest handyman, but you always made a plan. Now I’ll have to make my own. Your best gifts to me were never things — they were memories. (Though that pink bicycle with the streamers was a highlight!)

“You once told me, after we lost Franje, that we can spend our lives questioning God or trusting Him. Thank you for choosing trust — and for showing me what real faith looks like.

“The angels are in for a treat, because the man with the best dad jokes, the biggest heart, and the funniest pranks has arrived.”

The family is just a few months removed from announcing the birth of their first child. Demi-Leigh added that they named the child Daphne Reign.

Tim and Demi-Leigh were engaged in 2019 and tied the knot in January 2020.

As for her husband, Tim Tebow has become outspoken when it comes to crimes against children.

Earlier this year, Tebow got emotional while urging Americans to confront child sexual abuse.

“This is happening in our backyard,” Tebow said during an appearance on “The Shawn Ryan Show.”

The outspoken Christian former Heisman Trophy winner and founder of the Tim Tebow Foundation called the trafficking and exploitation of children “one of the worst evils in the world.”

Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, the wife of former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow, experienced one of the most frightening moments of her life when she became the victim of a terrifying carjacking attempt.

The former Miss Universe had several men come up to her at a red light in 2017, but she managed to somehow escape after they tried making off with her.

The 29-year-old model revealed that information to FOX News Digital.

“Shortly after I won Miss South Africa [March 26, 2017], about three months later, I was on my way to an event as the official Miss South Africa … And I was stopped at a red traffic light,” she explained. “And before I could even blink, I was surrounded by five men, by multiple men, and some of them were armed.”

“In that traumatic situation, I knew not to go to the second destination, because whatever is about to happen somewhere downtown, in some dark alley with [maybe more people present] is not going to be better than right here: broad daylight, peak-hour traffic with hundreds of people around me,” she continued.

“And, so, I tried to run away. I tried to get out of that vehicle. The man on my side of the vehicle grabbed me, pushed me back into the vehicle, said, ‘Get in, you’re going with us.’”

Tim Tebow’s wife proved that she was a fighter during that carjacking as she punched one of her would-be kidnappers in the throat before running away.

“The throat. It’s obviously lethal,” she said.
