She celebrated in big fashion.
U.S. skiing legend Mikaela Shiffrin had a special day on Wednesday, when she made history and confirmed her status as one of the greatest skiers of all time. She arrived at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milano Cortina as the winningest skier of all time.
Her 108 World Cup victories and the gold medals in the 2014 Sochi Games and the 2018 PyeongChang Games made her one of the most dominant athletes in the 2026 Games. Shiffrin won the third gold medal of her 2026 Olympic campaign.
She won the Women’s Slalom with a combined 1:39.10 time. Camille Rast of Switzerland won silver, while Sweden’s Anna Swenn-Larsson took bronze. After an eight-year drought, Shiffrin will return home with three gold medals around her neck.

After such a remarkable performance, Shiffrin didn’t mince words to celebrate the win.
“I won. I f***ing won. This, right here, is the lottery and I won. Oh, and I got a medal too. Thank you for either leading the way, or following right behind, so that we, together, can break barriers and raise the level of our sport,” Shiffrin said.
After sharing multiple Instagram stories, including congratulations from other high-profile athletes like swimmer Katie Ledecky and gymnast Simone Biles, Shiffrin ended the day with a much-deserved rest post. She posted a photo of herself in bed in her pajamas while still wearing the medal.
“G’night,” she captioned the post.

She will have time to enjoy herself before the games come to an end. Shiffrin dominated her sport, becoming one of the biggest stories of the competition.
