Victor Wembanyama sold a series of convincing fakes to freeze the Utah defense, then capped the play with an emphatic dunk.

Since returning from injury, Victor Wembanyama has quickly looked like his dominant self once again. From delivering jaw-dropping and physically unreal dunks to doing everything possible to push his team toward victory, Wembanyama has been all over the floor.

Recently, the Spurs star also introduced a new postgame tradition for San Antonio fans following wins. He and the Spurs were back on the court Saturday to continue that momentum. But even before the tradition could take center stage, Wembanyama found himself making headlines once again.

During a Spurs comeback push, Carter Bryant came up with a key strip against the Jazz that set the stage for a highlight-reel sequence. Wembanyama faked his way through the entire Utah defense before exploding to the rim and finishing with a thunderous dunk that brought the crowd to its feet.

Despite Wembanyama’s standout performance, San Antonio ultimately fell to the Utah Jazz 127–114. With the win, Utah snapped the Spurs’ eight-game winning streak.

After weeks of careful load management following a calf injury, the Spurs are clearly showing growing confidence in Victor Wembanyama. Wembanyama returned to the starting lineup on Saturday after coming off the bench in each of his previous seven appearances this season.

In just 28 minutes of action, Wembanyama posted a game-high 32 points, along with seven rebounds and three assists. His performance also added another historic mark. The French big man now owns the 10th-most games in NBA history with at least 30 points and five blocks.

Wembanyama had missed 12 games across November and December. It prompted San Antonio to limit his minutes and bring him off the bench upon his return to help manage his conditioning and reduce physical strain. As he continued to prove himself on the court, the Spurs ultimately allowed him to reclaim his spot in the starting lineup.
