Wemby showed off a lot of strength.

The San Antonio Spurs won their 50th game of the 2025-26 season Monday night. The Texas squad went to Intuit Dome and secured a big win over the Clippers, improving to 50-18, taking a 2-0 lead in the regular-season matchup and confirming that they are one of the best teams in the conference.

Victor Wembanyama starred in a curious (and to some, painful) moment during the game. A picture showed the big man’s ankle brutally twisted. Despite that, he played 34 minutes. Some fans said that it looked like his shoe came off, but the picture still looked scary.

Wembanyama finished with 21 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, one steal and four blocks during the 119-115 win. Stephon Castle led the Spurs with 23 points, adding seven rebounds and eight assists. San Antonio won eight of the last 10 games, staying three games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference standings.

The 2025-26 NBA season has seen Victor Wembanyama take his game to a new level. The former No. 1 pick has led his team to the No. 2 seed in the West, while dominating the top seed, the Thunder, in the regular-season matchup (4-1).

Wemby’s performance confirmed that he is one of the best two-way players in the NBA. Following a 115-102 win over the Charlotte Hornets, the Frenchman made his case to win both the MVP and DPOY awards this campaign.

“Right now, in my mind, is taking great care of my body cause I also want to win the MVP and the Defensive Player of the Year. So I’m trying to press the gas from now until the end of the season. Really take care of my treatment, take care of my sleep, take care of my routine, and show up for my team,” Wembanyama said.

San Antonio has become one of the best teams in the league, and the Frenchman is a strong favorite to take home both trophies.
