VIDEO: Aaron Rodgers Confirms He’s Signing With Pittsburgh Steelers While Answering Question During Public Event

Free agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers seemingly confirmed that he will, at long last, sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Aaron Rodgers was released by the New York Jets in March following a disastrous 2024 season. The move sent the four-time MVP to free agency for the first time in his career, and the Steelers have made an aggressive play for him.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and owner Art Rooney II have vocally expressed optimism that they’ll get a deal done with Rodgers. The 41-year-old, however, hasn’t given a timeline on when he’ll make a final decision. At this time, it appears to be Pittsburgh or retirement.

However, during a recent public event, Rodgers dropped a significant hint that he would sign with the AFC North club.

Rodgers participated in a Q&A session in Austin, Texas, and the video was posted on rapper Mike Stud’s YouTube channel. A young fan asked Rodgers if there was any chance of him signing with the Chicago Bears, leading to a fascinating response from the future Hall of Famer:

“No, but I believe there’s a team that might play in Chicago this year…a road trip…I love Chicago, though, way more than they love me! It’s been a great relationship, all one way!”

The Steelers, indeed, are set to visit the Bears at Soldier Field in Week 12 (Nov. 23) at 1:00 p.m. EST. So make of that as you will.

Rodgers has gone a ridiculous 24-5 in his career against the Bears in the regular season, plus a victory in the 2010 NFC Championship Game. He’s thrown 64 touchdowns and only 10 interceptions in those 29 regular-season games.

In some ways, it feels like Rodgers would have already retired by now if he weren’t fully committed to playing. Judging by his comments to the fans in Austin, it seems like he’s ready to play ball for Pittsburgh. So at this rate, what’s stopping him from making the final announcement?
