While the Dallas Mavericks traded their superstar Luka Doncic last season, they acquired another stellar talent in the 2025 NBA draft. As anticipated before the event, the Mavericks selected Cooper Flagg with the first overall pick in the first round of the draft.

There is high excitement about Flagg’s debut in the NBA as his first summer league game is against Bronny James and the Los Angeles Lakers. Meanwhile, Flagg is gaining the spotlight through his activity in the youth camp.

Recently, the Mavericks’ official account on X (formerly Twitter) posted a video of a youth camp. In the video, Flagg is playing against a kid and showing no mercy to him. At the start, he threw the ball to the kid to shoot, but he went full Beast Mode and did not let the kid score.

Later, when that kid was in defense against Flagg, he did not allow the kid to defend and nailed a dunk. This hilarious clip quickly gained traction on social media. Moreover, fans go wild after watching the clip and react with hilarious jokes in the comment section.

Several analysts are assessing how Flagg will fit with the Mavericks and what role he will play on the team. Meanwhile, in a recent interview with DJ Siddiqi, Mavericks forward P.J. Washington praised Flagg, calling him a generational talent.

“I think Cooper’s very good. I think he’s a really good player. Obviously, he’s going to have a chance to be something really special here in Dallas… He can pretty much do everything at an elite level. At his age, that’s what separates him. He has great length, he’s tall, and he can play both ends of the floor—obviously what you want. I just think he’s a generational player,” Washington said.

In the 2024-25 season in the NCAA, Flagg averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 37 games.
