The clip quickly went viral, with fans and critics alike weighing in on Tua’s offseason shape. Some defended the Dolphins quarterback, noting that players deserve time to relax and enjoy themselves during the offseason, while others expressed concern about his conditioning ahead of the 2025 season. After a year already impacted by injuries, many had hoped to see a more disciplined approach to his preparation. With training camp still weeks away, there’s time for Tua to get back into peak form — but the video has certainly added more pressure and scrutiny heading into a critical year for his career.

Tua Tagovailoa is certainly having a good time during the offseason, but he may be having too good of a time.

Coming off an injury-riddled 2024 campaign in which he played in only 10 games, the Miami Dolphins quarterback has certainly not taken the time to work out much.

This week, the Dolphins quarterback is catching quite the backlash after footage surfaced of him on a yacht while with family and friends.

Tagovailoa could visibly be seen in the background, sporting a noticeable beer belly.

Tua Tagovailoa Loses Offensive Weapon During Offseason But Finds Backup Quarterback

Tua Tagovailoa and Mike McDaniel will be down a player in offense and special teams after wide receiver Braxton Berrios left the team to sign a one-year, $2 million contract with the Texans for the 2025 NFL season.

Berrios spent 2023 and 2024 with McDaniel and Tagovailoa in Miami. Last year, he averaged 25.3 yards per return and 14.7 yards per punt return before tearing his ACL in Week 7 of the 2024 NFL season.

Due to Tua’s noted injury history, the team struck a one-year, $6 million deal with Zach Wilson on Monday.

Wilson, who the New York Jets took with the No. 2 overall pick in 2021, struggled as a starter in New York. He spent last season on the Broncos’ roster in Denver.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa finished 2024 with 2,867 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and an NFL-best 72.9 completion percentage.
