No question opposing players are going after Caitlin Clark.
In a chippy 88-71 win over Connecticut on Tuesday night, the Indiana Fever punched their ticket into the Commissioner’s Cup final. That became a major footnote to the feisty game between the players.
While dribbling with the ball in the offensive end of the court during the third quarter of Indiana’s 88-71 win at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Clark was poked in the eye by Jacy Sheldon.
It clearly infuriated the Fever star as she took exception and bumped and shoved Sheldon.
That’s when the Sun came to Sheldon’s defense, with Tina Charles coming to separate everybody. However, she never got the chance as Marina Mabley pushed Caitlin Clark to the ground.
After all was said and done, Clark, Mabrey, and Charles were all assessed technical fouls, and Sheldon was handed a flagrant 1.
It appears that moment was way worse than we initially thought.
A new angle from the stands shows that Clark was seriously hit in her eye in a move that looked more intentional than originally thought. To make matters worse, Mabrey’s shove looked even worse from the new angle.
