Being an athlete means dealing with all of the bumps and bruises that come with it, as Jutta Leerdam knows all too well.

Before she even stepped on the ice, the speed skater was already facing criticism at the 2026 Winter Olympics. The 27-year-old won a silver medal for the Netherlands during the 2022 Beijing Olympics. She also captured a few gold medals at the World Championships in the 1000 meters and the team sprint.

Leerdam entered the 2026 Olympics with a ton of confidence in the 1000m since she has won three of her four World Cup races this season.

As for her personal life, Leerdam is currently engaged to boxer Jake Paul. She already created quite the stir at the Olympics. Multiple headlines called her out for her diva-like behavior when she flew to the Olympics via a private jet.

Dutch speedskater Jutta Leerdam has fallen down quite a bit on the ice. During what appears to be a practice session, she suffered one of the worst falls of her career.

She fell onto the ice and crashed into a siding. It was so bad that the pants were ripped from the back. Unfortunately for her, she had no clue as she bent over to gather herself from the fall.


Her embarrassing moment turned into a great one for fans.

“I didn’t know they allowed crack in the Olympics, but hey, I’m not complaining. 👀,” one fan said.


“Who else just watched this more than once?” a second fan asked.

“the most beautiful athlete in the world,” a third fan wrote about Jutta Leerdam.

“I have no idea why, but they have this chick plastered all over my X account right today🤭don’t worry I don’t mind….at all⛈️✌🏻🤣⛈️,” one final fan commented.

In the meantime, the Dutch female speedskater lived up to the high expectations that were set for her on Monday. She won the gold medal in the 1,000-meter speed skating at the Winter Olympics. Jutta set an Olympic record with a time of 1:12.31.

She eclipsed the record that was set by her Dutch teammate, Femke Kok, just moments before she hit the ice.
