Ryan Seacrest Gets Body Checked By Contestant’s Father

As host of American Idol, Ryan Seacrest is a pro at navigating excited or disappointed parents. He’s often there to give comfort when an aspiring singer doesn’t make the cut on the ABC singing competition.

Ryan Seacrest took over as host of Wheel of Fortune when Pat Sajak retired. The game show contestants on Wheel of Fortune generally keep their cool when they win big or lose. That’s probably why Ryan Seacrest was so shocked during a recent episode that he turned to the cameras to ask what had just happened.

What had happened was that Brad Vangeli, from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, won the final round and took home $72,890. Ryan Seacrest brought the winner’s family on stage to celebrate. Brad Vangeli’s father had a unique way of celebrating the huge win.

He gave Ryan Seacrest not one, but two chest bumps. While the host agreed to the first one, he was taken by surprise by the second and mouthed “What is happening?” to the cameras.

Wheel Of Fortune Fans Call Out ‘Rude’ Audience Behavior

It was an adjustment for longtime viewers when Ryan Seacrest took over as host. Some fans were critical of the changes he made to announcing the prize money, among other small changes. However, in their latest vent, fans took aim at someone else other than the host. The studio audience.

The game show films multiple episodes a day with a live studio audience. The audience members are prompted by the producers when to clap and cheer and when to stay silent.

One disgruntled fan took to social media to discuss something new they noticed. According to the fan, the studio audience has started clapping at the wrong time. The fan asked, “Why have people started clapping awkwardly during the final round?”

They added, “I’ve noticed it during the last few shows…after the final spin and that person guesses a letter…then the audience applauds.” The Wheel of Fortune viewer continued, “I could be wrong, but historically I don’t think there’s applause like that during the final round until someone guesses correctly to win it.”

Other viewers chimed in to agree that the “awkward” clapping is new. One Wheel of Fortune fan wrote that the clapping makes it hard to hear the contestants. Another added, ” I find it rather rude and annoying to the players during that important round. Isn’t there a sign that tells the audience when to clap and when not to?”

“Pat used to tell the audience to “stop clapping” during the final spin, and Ryan should be doing that or production should say something before they film the final spin,” another viewer said.
