The NBA world is buzzing with the news of Luka Doncic’s move from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers.

As the star player in Dallas, Doncic led the Mavericks to an NBA Finals run last season. Despite his success, the front office chose to part ways with the five-time All-Star to enhance the team’s defensive strategy.

Luka Doncic Career

Luka Doncic, born on February 28, 1999, is a Slovenian basketball player currently playing for the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA as of February 2025. Although drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in 2018, he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks.

Doncic started playing basketball at age seven in his hometown, Ljubljana, Slovenia. Raised by his mother, Mirjam Poterbin, after his parents’ divorce in 2008, his father, Sasa Doncic, is a former player and current coach.

In his debut season (2018-19), Doncic made the NBA All-Rookie First Team and won Rookie of the Year. Since then, he has become an NBA superstar, earning five All-Star and All-NBA First Team selections in six seasons. He led the Mavericks to the Western Conference Finals in 2021-22 and the NBA Finals in 2023-24, where they lost to the Boston Celtics. During that Finals run, Doncic became the sixth player in NBA history to lead his team in points, rebounds, and assists.

Fearne has had a difficult few months after undergoing surgery to remove two benign tumours from her jawline, just days before her split with Jesse emerged.

Discussing her recent surgery, she added: ‘I feel very grateful to have completely recovered.

‘I feel really good. I have a lot of people reaching out who have had the same thing.’

Davina McCall, 56, announced in November she’d been diagnosed with a colloid cyst, a rare type of benign brain tumour, and has supported Fearne.

She continued: ‘Everyone needs a Davina. She’s been amazing, weird that we had the same health thing going on at the same time. She’s so calming and we speak every day. She is just the best

It comes after Fearne has seemingly made another thinly-veiled dig at her ex-husband as she gushed that she is the happiest she’s ever been in a positive update.

Speaking to Scott Mills on his BBC Radio 2 breakfast show, Fearne gushed that she is ‘really happy’ and is ‘springing out of bed in the morning ready for life’.

Scott, who has known Fearne for 25 years, said he has never seen her ‘more positive or happier’, prompting Fearne to agree and reply: ‘Yeah I feel great!’

She told how her health scare has changed her outlook and said she has been seeking comfort from Davina.
