Robert Irwin Is The Winner Of Dancing With The Stars‘ 34th Season

Bindi Irwin and her brother Robert shared an emotional hug after his win on dancing with the stars

Bindi Irwin is over-the-moon excited for her brother, Robert, following his win on Dancing with the Stars.

Robert Irwin was the first celebrity attached to DWTS‘ 34th season. We eventually learned that his professional partner would be Witney Carson, who previously won Season 19 with Alfonso Ribeiro (who’s now one of the show’s co-hosts).

Robert, who had no prior dancing experience, quickly established himself as one of the frontrunners in the competition. He amazed the judges and viewers with his talent and continued to improve each week.

Several of his dances had an emotional component. He performed his “Dedication Night” routine in honor of his mother, Terri. Later, he and Witney paid tribute to his late father, Steve, with a dance set to “Footprints in the Sand.”

Robert found himself battling a rib injury going into the DWTS finale. But he powered through to deliver three spectacular dances, earning a combined score of 89 out of 90.

But the judges’ scores only counted for half of the results that determined the winner. The rest was left up to viewers’ votes.

After much anticipation, Alfonso Ribeiro revealed that Robert and Witney were the champions of the season!

Why Robert’s Win On Dancing With The Stars Means So Much To Bindi

Robert’s family was in the ballroom to celebrate his win. It was a significant moment for Robert’s big sister, Bindi, to witness, considering her own history with Dancing with the Stars.

Bindi Irwin Has Best Reaction to Robert Irwin's DWTS Win

Bindi won Season 21 of DWTS with Derek Hough in 2015. Robert was only 11 years old at the time, but already expressed an interest in competing on the show one day.

Ten years later, he did precisely that!

Bindi, her husband Chandler, and their daughter Grace temporarily moved from Australia to Los Angeles to support Robert on the show. It meant the world to Robert to have their support, as well as that of his mother, Terri.

After Robert and Witney’s win, Bindi rushed onto the dance floor to congratulate them. She and Robert shared an emotional embrace.

Bindi posted a video of the sweet moment, saying:

10 years ago I won Dancing with the Stars. Tonight, my little brother takes HIS mirrorball home.”

Writing in the caption, Bindi said, “love you so much, @robertirwinphotography. Words can’t describe how proud I am of you. You EARNED this.”

Bindi also uploaded two photos that show both her and Robert holding Mirrorball trophies. She said:

TWO MIRRORBALLS NOW CALL AUSTRALIA ZOO HOME!!!! Congratulations and all the love in the world to @robertirwinphotography and @witneycarson. What. A. Night.”

Robert and Bindi have now made history as the only pair of celebrity siblings to win Dancing with the Stars. See the photos of them with the Mirrorball trophies below.

Congratulations to Robert and Witney on their win!
