According to reports, the group was riding back from the event when Sperbeck’s accident occurred. Witnesses say Sperbeck fell from the back of one of the golf carts and struck his head on the pavement. Despite immediate medical attention, he tragically passed away from his injuries a few days later. No foul play or intoxication is suspected, and authorities are treating the incident as a heartbreaking accident. The loss has deeply affected Elway, who had shared both personal and professional milestones with Sperbeck for over three decades. Friends and colleagues have since poured in tributes honoring Sperbeck’s lasting impact.

Additional details, including the cause of d3ath of John Elway’s longtime friend and agent Jeff Sperbeck, have emerged this Friday.

Sperbeck started representing Elway in the early 90s and fostered a close relationship with the former Denver Broncos quarterback. They became business partners after the latter retired, launching a wine brand together.

The agent, who had a lengthy NFL client list over the many years, was the victim of a tragic accident last month, having hit his head after falling from a golf cart. It was later revealed that Elway was the driver.

Per 9 News, Elway was with his girlfriend, his son, daughter-in-law, Sperbeck, and his wife, as well as other friends, when they left a private event at the Madison Club in La Quinta.

It’s understood that 10-15 people were traveling in three or four golf carts a short distance from the Hall of Famer’s house.

According to eyewitnesses, no one was behaving like they were drunk, and there was no swerving or horseplay. The golf cart in question also did not hit anything, yet Sperbeck fell back and hit his head.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office didn’t attend to the scene because it was a medical emergency.

“There is nothing to indicate that this is anything more than a tragic accident,” they wrote on social media.

TMZ has since reported having been told by the Sheriff’s office that the Coroner’s Bureau has officially ruled Sperbeck’s d3ath an accident, with blunt head trauma noted as the official cause of d3ath.

However, they are still awaiting the results of a toxicology test.
