Molly Qerim was in shock after Stephen A. Smith told her to eat less cake
Stephen A. Smith has once again put his entire foot in his mouth.

First Take was in the middle of celebrating Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo’s birthday Tuesday when the ESPN personality had to stop and remind Molly Qerim not to eat any cake because she already eats too much of it.

Stephen A. Smith: “He’s gonna celebrate with Mrs. Mad Dog. She reached out this morning. She reached out this morning to let us know.”

Molly Qerim: “She’s baking his cake right now. How sweet. I love it. From scratch.”

Stephen A. Smith: “Don’t eat any, Molly. You’ve been eating enough over the last – you ate my cake. “I’m not talking about how you look, you look great, But you ate my cake!”

That moment left Keyshawn Johnson stunned and Molly telling him that the clip would go viral on social media.

“That’s about to go viral,” Qerim predicted. “I blame you when there’s a headline. Going viral, ‘Stephen A. tells Molly she eats too much cake,’ I see the headline now.”

She was right.

The Indiana Fever made a franchise-altering decision last season when they selected Iowa guard Caitlin Clark with the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft. The budding star turned the team around, helping them to the playoffs for the first time in nearly 10 years.

As a result of their success, several high-end free agents wanted to team up with Clark and her teammates. Now, equipped with a complete starting lineup and a solid amount of depth, the Fever are one of the frontrunners for the WNBA Finals.

But before their season officially begins on May 17, they’ll have a trio of preseason contests to play. While two of them are run-of-the-mill exhibition games, one of them is another testament to just how impactful Clark has been during her one year in the league.
