Michael Jordan made his return to television on Tuesday evening.

The six-time NBA champion, who played for the Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards during his Hall of Fame career, is working for NBC. The outlet known for broadcasting the NBA Finals during Jordan’s playing career is part of the league’s new TV rights deal. Jordan, arguably the best player in the history of the game, said he wanted to help push the game forward.

“I have an obligation to the game of basketball … as a basketball player is to be able to pass on messages of success and dedication to the game of basketball,” Jordan said during his “MJ: Insights to Excellence” segment with play-by-play man Mike Tirico.

Jordan, who is married to former Cuban model Yvette Prieto, hasn’t been seen in the spotlight much since retiring. Jordan has been heavily involved in NASCAR, co-owning the 23XI Racing team with Denny Hamlin. He previously sold his ownership stake in the Charlotte Hornets.

Of course, MJ remains a huge part of Nike. His Air Jordan brand has helped give him a fortune worth $3.8 billion, according to Forbes.

Jordan reportedly looked to protect his net worth while making his prenuptial agreement with his second wife.

Details of Michael Jordan’s prenuptial agreement

According to a law firm, Jordan has a prenuptial agreement with his wife, that will pay her $1 million for each year they are married. If they stay married for more than 10 years – which they already have; the couple married in 2013 – she will receive $5 million per year of marriage.

“In Jordan’s previous divorce he ended up paying his wife approximately $168 million, as well as giving her custody of their three children. She also got to keep the marital home, a sprawling 25,000 square foot estate in Chicago,” the law firm reported.

Prenuptial agreements are recommended for everyone who gets married.

“By having the prenuptial agreement in place, both parties know what to expect and can greatly simplify the divorce settlement process if their marriage comes to an end. But prenuptial agreements aren’t just for the mega-wealthy; they are an effective and practical tool for anyone who wants to take the uncertainty out of divorce.”
