Drake Maye couldn’t wait to get off the field.
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye trucked an ESPN cameraman after leading his team to a 28-16 victory over the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round.
Despite some challenges from the Houston defense, Drake Maye and the Pats held off the Texans’ pesky defense for a 12-point victory. The Pats will now face the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game next Sunday in Mile High City.
After the game, several photographers and camera operators followed Maye as he jogged off the field. That’s when the second-year quarterback accidentally trucked a cameraman and knocked him to the ground:
Per ESPN, Drake Maye finished the game with 16 completions for 179 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. He was sacked five times and lost two fumbles, yes. But Maye ultimately made the plays when his team needed them most.
The Patriots are playing in the AFC Championship Game for the first time since the 2018 season. That year, they beat the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium en route to a Super Bowl 53 victory.
