The return of Hill and Fagan is expected to add a fitting, sentimental touch to Around the Horn’s farewell. Both women brought sharp commentary, unique perspectives, and memorable on-air moments during their original runs, helping shape the show’s legacy. Fans who watched the program throughout the 2000s and 2010s will no doubt appreciate seeing familiar faces back for the final stretch.
With the show’s curtain call approaching, ESPN seems determined to celebrate the personalities who made Around the Horn a staple of sports television. If Hill’s playful “one last mute” comment is any indication, the finale will be both emotional and full of classic energy.
To commemorate its final shows, Around the Horn will bring back former panelists, including Jemele Hill and Kate Fagan, for one last hoorah.
Hill was part of the ESPN family for over a decade, covering a handful of sports as a columnist and TV personality.
Hill joined ESPN in 2006, and her tenure wouldn’t end until 2017. Fagan, a former basketball standout, was with the network from 2012 to 2018
Both Hill and Fagan were fan favorites during their original stints on the program.
As ESPN prepares to bid farewell to a major part of its afternoon lineup, the return of Jemele Hill and Kate Fagan offers a nostalgic moment for longtime viewers of Around the Horn.
After the announcement, Jemele Hill took to social media and posted, “One last mute for the road.”

Jemele Hill left ESPN in September 2018 after a controversial tenure that was marked by her voicing her opinion on Donald Trump and Jerry Jones.
Hill left “SportsCenter” in January 2018 following an infamous tweet about President Donald Trump.
In September 2017, Hill called Trump a “white supremacist” and then got suspended a month later after calling for the boycott of Dallas Cowboys advertisers after owner Jerry Jones said he’d bench players who knelt during the anthem.
Hill even caught Trump’s attention. In 2017, the former president tweeted: “With Jemele Hill at the mike (sic), it is no wonder ESPN ratings have ‘tanked,’ in fact, tanked so badly it is the talk of the industry!”
