DWTS fans are used to showmances blossoming behind the scenes. Several have even led to marriage. Former pro Kym Johnson fell in love with Shark Tank star Robert Herjavec while competing on Season 20 together. The showmance is lacking in Season 34, until now. DWTS Showmances Gone Bad

Are showmances real or just faked for votes? That’s a subject that DWTS fans debate every season. Season 33 had at least two showmances. Jenn Tran dated her pro partner, Sasha Farber, for a while. They broke up when she left L.A. to move to Miami, Florida, to finish her degree. But they’re still close friends.

The same can’t be said for Brooks Nader and her partner, Gleb Savchenko. Their relationship ended shortly after she was eliminated. She later accused him of acting inappropriately and cheating on her.

Gleb was paired with Hilaria Baldwin for Season 34. Their steamy dances reportedly led to her husband, Alec Baldwin, worrying that a showmance was brewing.

Nikki Garcia and Artem Chigvintsev became a couple after dancing together on Season 25. Their relationship was real, but they split in 2024 after a domestic violence incident. The charges against Artem were later dropped.

Season 34’s Surprise Showmance

Most of the celebrities competing on Season 34 are married or in relationships. That leaves a major lack of possible showmances. Some viewers think Jen Affleck’s husband is ruining her time on DWTS by controlling her every move on the dance floor.

Jen Affleck and her pro Jan Ravnik appeared together in a TikTok video poking fun at the lack of showmances. “It’s weird there’s no showmances this season,” the pair mused while Jan ate a banana.

The clip cut to Ezra Sosa and Dylan Efron hard-launching their showmance or maybe just a bromance. Dylan lifted Ezra and twirled him before the two skipped away from the camera holding hands.

Fans Have Just One Question

Of all the possible showmances, fans weren’t expecting Dylan Efron and Ezra Sosa. They had just one question about the hard launch: What about Boston Rob? The Survivor alum and Dylan had a bromance while filming Season 3 of Traitors. 

Boston Rob even flew across the country to sit in the live audience during the DWTS season premiere to support Dylan. Check out some of the comments from fans:
