Keith Urban has broken his silence following his split with Nicole Kidman.

The 58-year-old musician made an unexpected return to social media over the weekend, after remaining quiet on the breakdown of his marriage to the Hollywood star for almost two months.

On Saturday, November 15, the country music star took to Instagram to give fans a glimpse of his new reality TV competition called The Road, which also stars his friend and fellow country singer, Blake Shelton. Urban reportedly “stayed silent” about his and Kidman’s split throughout the entire filming of the show. It comes after Keith Urban’s surprising net worth was revealed after his split from Nicole Kidman.

The series follows 12 up-and-coming country music artists as they compete for a chance to be Urban’s opening act on his American tour.

In the clip, Urban joked about some of his most memorable hairstyles over the years and discussed his one true passion, making music.

Shelton told his friend that they’ve been in Nashville since the 1990s, and have seen their pair share of “awkward phases” and “growing pains.”

The singer asked Urban to explain one of his earliest looks, which featured his blonde locks grown out past his shoulders.

Urban said that was how he looked when he first arrived in Nashville, and he joked that, at the time, he couldn’t understand why he couldn’t get a recording contract.

“I don’t know what the hell was going on,” Urban continued to joke, before he looked at a snap of a younger Shelton with his hair grown out, too.

He called the look Charles Manson-inspired. “What was going on here?” he asked his friend, to which Shelton joked that his lushious curls had been wind swept just before the photo was taken.

Shelton continued to quip that Urban has had the same hairstyle since 2001 and advised him to change it up.

“You know you learn a lot when you’ve been on the road for more than a few years… especially when it comes to your hair. Right @keithurban??? @theroadcbs #TheRoad,” Shelton captioned the post, which Urban shared to Instagram.

The Road premiered on CBS and Paramount+ on October 19. It offers a unique glimpse into Urban’s career.

In the first episode, he opened up about the challenges of life on tour, describing moments when he felt “completely lonely and miserable” while away from his family.

“Where do we start? It’s a calling, and you’re going to do it or you’re not going to make it,” Urban said.

“When you wake up on a tour bus at 3:30 in the morning, sick as a dog, in the middle of nowhere, and you’ve got to play your fifth show that night… missing your friends, your family, completely lonely and miserable…

“You ask yourself, “Why am I doing this?” The only answer can be: Because this is what I’m born to do.”

Sources close to the former couple have suggested that their busy schedules led to a “lack of intimacy” that contributed to the shocking split.

Other insiders claim that Urban has been experiencing a “midlife crisis,” which has led to behavior that ultimately drove a wedge between the longtime couple.

RadarOnline reported that Urban has been “acting out” and making a “string of confusing choices.”

The publication claims that he had begun to feel hemmed in by the marriage, and his growing frustrations ultimately led to the separation.
