President Donald Trump strongly criticized Bad Bunny after he performed at the Super Bowl 60 halftime show. He was totally furious about the performance on social media and called it “absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER!”

Trump said the show “makes no sense” and called it “a slap in the face” to the country. He also criticized the dancing and said, “Nobody understands a word this guy is saying.” He added, “And, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule.”

His comments quickly led to arguments online. Soon after, a new poll gave a better idea of how Americans feel about both men.

A survey conducted by Yahoo! and YouGov asked more than 1,700 U.S. adults about their views following the Super Bowl. Pollsters gathered responses between Feb. 9 and Feb. 12.

The survey focused on favorability and representation. It asked respondents who better represents America, Bad Bunny or Trump.

More Americans chose the Puerto Rican music star. Forty two percent said Bad Bunny better represents America. Thirty nine percent picked Trump.

“Over 1,700 U.S. adults were polled after the Super Bowl, Feb. 9-12, and asked their opinions on Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, and whether they approved or disapproved of the “DtMF” singer and his message,When asked “Who better represents America? Bad Bunny or Donald Trump?”, more Americans said the Puerto Rican music superstar does. Forty-two percent said Bad Bunny better represents America, with 39 percent choosing Trump,” the report mentioned.

The poll also asked people what they thought about Bad Bunny’s halftime show and his message. People had mixed opinions. Even so, the overall numbers showed that Bad Bunny had slightly higher favorability ratings.

This result stands out. Donald Trump usually has strong support from his base, but in this poll, he ranked just behind the global music star.

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has built a huge worldwide fan base with his Spanish-language music and strong cultural voice. Whereas, Trump remains a top figure in US politics.

The Yahoo! and YouGov poll offers only a superficial view. Polls can shift with events and public mood. Still, this survey shows that, at least for now, more Americans express favorability toward Bad Bunny than toward Trump.
