Things changed in a matter of hours.

Dianna Russini remains the biggest name around the NFL this week. After an explosive report from Page Six showed her and New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel holding hands and hugging, fans went after the insider.

Russini and Vrabel quickly dismissed the notion that they were at an Arizona report as something more than friends, with The Athletic backing up their senior insider and taking her word.

However, after a couple of days, plenty of scrutiny from fans and old videos that put Russini in a bad light, the outlet, owned by The New York Times, changed its mind.

How The Athletic Made A U-Turn On Dianna Russini?

After announcing that they launched an investigation into this matter, The Athletic added that Russini won’t report for them while the situation is under investigation. Only a couple of days after they were confident about Russini’s “innocence,” they changed their mind. So what happened?

According to a report from Game 7, some obvious gaps began to appear in Russini’s original story about her getaway with Vrabel.

And then there was the witness problem. Russini said the photos didn’t represent the full group of six people she was with that day. A source close to Russini told Page Six she had been at the Ambiente as part of a hiking trip with two female friends.

But three other sources told Page Six they did not see anyone else with Vrabel or Russini at the resort. “No, he was with a girl,” one witness said. And no photos of Russini with those friends have surfaced, not publicly and not from sources close to the matter.

At that point, executives at The New York Times started questioning whether Russini was honest about the trip.

“She told them the photos were out of context,” Game 7 wrote. “She told them there was a group of six. She said she was on a hiking trip with friends. The Athletic repeated those claims publicly. Ginsberg went on the record with a statement that only works if Russini’s version is true.

“If it turns out she wasn’t fully transparent, then The Athletic didn’t just defend an employee. They put their own editorial credibility on the line based on an account that couldn’t hold up under scrutiny.”

The biggest question is whether she lied or not. If she couldn’t show evidence to back up her claims, not only her, but The Athletic’s credibility will take a major hit. She is a national reporter, one who can push narratives. If their bet on Russini’s credibility fails, it could be a total disaster.

Fearne Cotton has broken her silence on split from husband Jesse Wood in her first TV interview since the breakup.

Joining Lorraine Kelly on Monday’s episode of the ITV show, the TV presenter, 43, also gave an health update after having two tumours removed from jaw.

Fearne announced her split from Jesse, the son of Rolling Stones bass guitarist Ronnie Wood, in December after 10 years of marriage.

She has since made swipes at Jesse and moved on with TV director Elliot Hegarty, with the pair having been seen kissing during a recent night out.

Fearne has had a difficult few months after undergoing surgery to remove two benign tumours from her jawline, just days before her split with Jesse emerged.

She told host Lorraine: ‘It’s all very amicable and kids are doing great. I am in a very good place.’place.’

Discussing her recent surgery, she added: ‘I feel very grateful to have completely recovered.

‘I feel really good. I have a lot of people reaching out who have had the same thing.’

Davina McCall, 56, announced in November she’d been diagnosed with a colloid cyst, a rare type of benign brain tumour, and has supported Fearne.

She continued: ‘Everyone needs a Davina. She’s been amazing, weird that we had the same health thing going on at the same time. She’s so calming and we speak every day. She is just the best

It comes after Fearne has seemingly made another thinly-veiled dig at her ex-husband as she gushed that she is the happiest she’s ever been in a positive update.

Speaking to Scott Mills on his BBC Radio 2 breakfast show, Fearne gushed that she is ‘really happy’ and is ‘springing out of bed in the morning ready for life’.

Scott, who has known Fearne for 25 years, said he has never seen her ‘more positive or happier’, prompting Fearne to agree and reply: ‘Yeah I feel great!’

She told how her health scare has changed her outlook and said she has been seeking comfort from Davina.
