That could have been her end…

A woman went viral on TikTok after detailing how a fun pool party turned into a nightmare that nearly cost her everything. Pool parties in Las Vegas are highly common, but swimming in high levels of bacteria can have serious repercussions in people’s lives.

A 2022 investigation revealed that popular clubs in the city presented bacteria and E. coli. IEH Laboratories in Seattle reviewed the test of pool water samples from Marquee Dayclub at The Cosmopolitan, Daylight Beach Club at Mandalay Bay, and TAO Beach Dayclub at The Venetian. Dr. Susan Whittier shared the concerning results.

“We found a lot of fecal bacteria in some of these pools,” Whittier told Inside Edition. “The potential for infection occurring seems inevitable.”

Four years later, it doesn’t seem that things have changed.

TikTok user “k_lamarie,” shared a chilling story of her experience at a Las Vegas Hotel a couple of weeks ago. She shared the video, with dozens of thousands of views, as a warning.

“Let me de-influence you from getting in these dirty-a– pools on the Las Vegas Strip,” she said.

The user decided to attend a daytime pool party. She didn’t realize she had a small cut on the bottom of her feet. However, a day or two after the party, she couldn’t put pressure on her foot. What followed was a nightmare.

“I’m in the hospital for six days—four of those days being in the ICU—because I had a severe blood infection and went into septic shock and almost died,” she explained.

Upon her exit from the hospital, she was on 12 days of IV antibiotics. While she acknowledged that the daytime parties are fun, she wants people to be extra careful.

“These pools are disgusting. But the day parties are lit,” she said

Fortunately, she seems fine now. Still, it is hard to imagine how scary that situation must have been.
