The Wisconsin Badgers took on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Sunday, eager to upset the 2025 College Football Playoff champions. The team lined up to punt, and the broadcast and fans online couldn’t believe what they saw at Lambeau Field.
Sean West caught the snap and launched a 69-yard ball that hung, turned over, and died inside the 5. Dan Hicks and Jason Garrett sounded like they had just watched a trick, not a fourth-down kick. Ari Meirov did not hedge. “This might be the greatest punt I’ve ever seen in my life.”

The Keys Blog clicked expecting hype. “Yeah I clicked this tweet thinking it was an exaggeration.. it 100% is not. This is the greatest.”

West is a 6-foot-2 junior from Mequon. He grew up a Badger. Last year, he averaged 47.7 yards and converted fake punts with his legs and his arm.

College Football special teams rarely break the internet. This one did because the placement is cruel. West is not booming it into the end zone. He is dropping it where a returner has to fair catch or watch it roll out. The coverage team is already there. The Notre Dame sideline is stuck watching the football act like a dart.

West’s own page still lists him as the Badgers’ No. 91. It will not mention this kick until the box score posts. The internet has already filed it. College Football spent two days yelling about Hail Marys, FPI seeds, and GameDay noise. Then a punter from Homestead High dropped a 69-yard ball at Lambeau, and the argument changed.
