Congratulations Pouring In For Angel Reese After Big Fashion Announcement - The Spun

The Chicago Sky are nearly a month away from their season opener, but Angel Reese had fans celebrating this Tuesday afternoon.

Reese, a former SEC Player of the Year and national champion, has become one of the most popular players in women’s basketball due to her relentless motor and unapologetic attitude. That being said, she’s trending on social media this week due to her achievements away from the hardwood.

During an episode of “Unapologetically Angel” in January, the former LSU star revealed that she paid off her mother’s mortgage. It was her surprise birthday gift.

“You said that if your mortgage was paid off, you would retire or you can pick if you want to work still,” Reese said on her podcast. “So your mortgage today has been paid.”

Roughly three months later, Reese had an exciting update to share. Not only has she retired her mother, she has officially purchased her very own home.

“Retired my momma, became a homeowner all at 22,” Reese wrote on X. “So blessed.”

As you’d expect, WNBA fans congratulated Reese on her latest accomplishments.

“Congratulations Angel I’m very proud of you keep being you,” one fan replied

“Angel being a literal Angel towards others all the time affirms my belief in destiny. Because the way she has said FOR YEARS she wanted to do this for her mom,” another fan pointed out.

“Love this for you,” a third fan wrote.

“Congratulations, Angel. You deserve it all,” a fourth fan commented.

Reese is gearing up for her second year in the WNBA. She averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game as a rookie for the Sky.

The former No. 7 overall pick should have a lot of confidence heading into the season opener for Chicago, especially after being named Unrivaled Defensive Player of the Year just a month ago.

WNBA fans will get to see Reese back in action on May 17 against the Indiana Fever.
