When your last name is Trump, rumors find you quickly. Melania Trump has had enough of one in particular, a claim that her son, Barron Trump, applied to and got rejected by Harvard.

Melania didn’t stay silent. She called the rumor false and made it clear she won’t tolerate misinformation about her son’s college choices. Her communications director, Nicholas Clemens, told the New York Post, “Barron did not apply to Harvard, and any assertion that he, or that anyone on his behalf, applied is completely false.”

Barron Trump, now a freshman at New York University, has started to find his rhythm as a student. He’s shown interest in playing pickup basketball and continues to pursue his business degree. While he keeps a relatively low profile on campus, reports say he considered several schools, including the University of Miami, Penn, Georgetown, and St. John’s, before choosing NYU.

President Donald Trump said last fall that Barron “got into a lot of schools,” though he didn’t name them. Barron chose not to follow in his father’s footsteps by attending Penn, instead opting to forge his own academic path.

The Harvard rumor picked up steam after a U.S. Senator posted, “Can’t help but wonder how many Trumps got rejected by Harvard.” That single remark kicked off waves of speculation on social media, prompting headlines and online chatter.

Melania stepped in quickly. She doesn’t often speak out, especially when it comes to Barron. But this time, she made it clear she won’t let falsehoods slide. She values her son’s privacy and wants the public to respect it as well.

Barron continues to focus on his studies at NYU while trying to live a normal college life. Melania, meanwhile, stays firm in defending her son and setting the record straight when necessary.
