Compton College’s JUCO football team is trending this week over some unique players on their roster.
The team formerly known as the Tartars recently concluded their 2025 season with a 0–10 record, forfeiting their final two games.
The college, now known by the nickname Coyotes, was outscored 480–12, extending a 35-game losing streak that dates back more than three years to October 2022.
Their record is one notable thing, but the roster is taking the cake and likely explains why it is hard for them to win.
Compton College’s roster features a 45-year-old former Compton mayoral candidate, WR Lamar Willis, as well as his son, Josiah Willis, a defensive back.
Also on the roster is 50-year-old DE/LB Orson Villalobos.

“Imagine lining up against your dad in practice, then both losing 48 to nothing together,” one fan said.
“The scoreline is brutal, but the commitment shown by players like the 50-year-old is the real story here,” a second fan wrote.
“Only in JUCO can you find a 50-year-old lining up at linebacker, but even that couldn’t save an 0–10 season,” a third fan commented about Compton College.
“🏈 Age is just a number! Salute to Compton’s real-life “Uncle Drew” squad for pure heart and hustle. 🙌,” a fourth fan added.
“480-12 scoring margin, then forfeiting the last two games. When your 45-year-old WR and 50-year-old DE are your best options, the data already told you how this season ends,” one final fan stated.
This story isn’t all that uncommon. In 2022, Ray Ruschel made major headlines after he decided to play for the North Dakota State College of Science football team at the age of 49. He was a freshman and majoring in business management.
A few months ago, 58-year-old Tom Cillo made the Lycoming College Warriors football team, where he’ll play defensive line.
As for 45-year-old Lamar Willis, he only played in two games this year and did not rack up any stats.
His son, Josiah Willis, played in six games and had three tackles. 50-year-old Orson Villalobos played in two games and registered one tackle.
The vast majority of Compton College’s games involved the team scoring zero points and the opposing team scoring 50 or more.
